New and old stripper forums

Just a quick post about the best online communities for lapdancers - the stripper forums.

I just received a lovely email from the new kid on the block; http://www.dancethepoles.com/

Hey Sassy!

First of all, your blog kicks-ass. You've posted such a great collection of resources!

I wanted to reach out to you because I think you would be interested in a new online community for exotic dancers/strippers:  www.dancethepoles.com.

It's just launched and looks like it could be a great resource for dancers who want the 411 on working conditions at clubs in the USA - it has a reviews feature where dancers can post their comments and experiences of the punters, the management, house fee's etc.  Nice!

The original online exotic dancer forum is http://www.stripperweb.com  This website has been going for years, it has lots of members and boy do they like to chat!  It's a basic looking site but dig around and you will find loads of useful information and resources by dancers all over the world.

One that purports to be a grassroots organisation for strippers and sex workers is http://www.exoticdancernet.com  This also has tons of members - all girls I guess, and a whole bunch of topics of dancer discussion.

Of course, it's  totes unfair if it's just girls having all the fun, so luckily there is a stripper forum for male strippers.  Hurrah!  http://www.malestrippersforum.co.uk/  I would love some guest blog posts or a chance to interview a male stripper, so I might just be posting on there myself soon....

There is also a forum style service on a website run by a fellow stripper who I follow on Twitter http://askastripper.ning.com/ I'm not a member (yet) so can't tell you a whole load about the site.... Or nosey parkers can grill me with any questions directly.... via email or tweet me - I'm sassylapdancer on twitter as you can see from my side bar...

http://www.stripclubforums.com/ is a mixed gender site - it has a mixture of punters and dancers commentating on a variety of gentleman's club topics.

I am slowly but surely revamping my own online presence, so stay tuned folks for some super sassy lapdancer action coming soon!

Well I hope that's useful stuff for any dancers out there who would like to find out some information, or perhaps just feel lonely.....  It's great that I can post a 'Top 5 stripper forum'!  Who says dancers were bitchy and stupid, huh?? As always I hope that any readers with additional ideas comment on these posts and links, and that we all continue to chat, share, explore and generally get on - in the changing room and hustling the floor.

An online community built by dancers, for dancers.
Enjoy a variety of resources to help you navigate your vertical travels.

Going to a strip club for the first time? The strip club has its own dictionary of strip club terms that can get quite confusing. Educating yourself about the definitions of these strip club terms and services canbe helpful.
  • Air Dance- An air dance is the cheapest type of personal dance one can usually get at a strip club. The definition is a dance where the stripper must keep air between herself and the patron at all times. So basically, there is no touching at all.

  • Beater- No, this is not what you are thinking. A beater is that one stripper who gets up on stage and just cannot hit the beat of the music while she is dancing.

  • Bed Dance- A bed dance is usually reserved for the higher priced strip clubs. A patron lays on a small bed on his or her back and the stripper dances on top of him. She could be standing over or laying on top of the customer. Most of the time, these dances are used to simulate girl on top. These are rare to find so they are most likely not going to be in smaller strip clubs.

  • Champagne Room- A champagne room is usually a room that is off the main floor. It has a more relaxed and less crowded atmosphere than the main floor. Inside the champagne room, are usually couches and chairs for sitting and chatting drinking, and dancing. this is where you will make most of your money.
  • Couch Dance- The couch dance is a dance that is usually done in a privet area. The stripper usually dances in front of the customer. This is a less intimate, shorter, and cheaper version of the champaign room.

  • Dancer Drink- A dancer drink is a drink (that is usually grossly overpriced) that you purchase for a stripper. She is then usually obligated to stay at your table until her drink is gone or her stage call comes. The dancer gets a portion of the drink cost, at some clubs.

  • Dollar Dates- The small amount of conversation that you get during a mini lap/dollar dance is called a dollar date. Use the dollar date to determine if you will be able to sell the customer a full dance.

  • Feature Dancer- A feature dancers definition is a porn star, popular magazine models, or strippers who have developed a following. Feature dancers are brought in for a night or two and paid an appearance fee. Feature dancers usually have elaborate costumes and dance numbers that sometimes can make customers forget that they are in a strip club. The cover charge is usually higher on these nights and tipping in a must when a club has a feature dancer.

  • Floor Work- When a stripper is doing her stage work that is on the floor, it is called floor work. Floor work can include simulating sex or laying back and opening their legs but the possibilities are endless.

  • Friction Dance- This is a dance that usually takes the place in areas where the rules allow it. dances where grinding is allowed for longer then 5 seconds. where your body parts are creating friction on their jeans and crotch.

  • Gawker/Spectator/Rock- A patron who goes to the strip club to watch but never buys any additional services or tips the strippers. Management tries to deal with these pretty quickly.

  • Gentlemens Club- A gentlemens club is the exact same thing as a strip club. Strip clubs are usually referred to as gentlemens clubs when they have a nice atmosphere for both customers and dancers, spend money on their decor and ambience, and have high prices. These clubs also usually tend to offer better customs

  • House Dancer- A house dancer is a stripper that works exclusively and regularly at the same strip club. Some strippers will tend to float around in between different clubs that are close to each other.

  • Lap Dance- A lap dance is usually performed in a room of the main floor or a sectioned off area on the main floor. The customer sits on a couch with his hands to his sides and the stripper dances in and over his lap. Strippers usually grind on his crotch and get within close proximity to customers face with their chest, mouth, etc.

  • Mileage- Mileage is used to describe how much bang you get for your money. For example, if you spend some time and money at the strip and earn a reputation for being a respectful customer that pays nice, your dollar would get more mileage than a random guy who walks in wanting the same service. Mileage can also apply between strippers. You can get an amazing experience for a $20.00 lap dance with one stripper but get a bad experience with another dancer for that same $20.00 amount. Therefore, you got more mileage out of your first $20.00 lap dance.

  • Mini Lap/ Dollar Dance- Some clubs allow a 2 to 10 second dance that is done at your table for a dollar. These are great because you get a little extra money than on stage.  A dollar dance is also a good test to see if you could sell a lap dance to the customer.

  • Pervert Row/ Tip Rail- This is the row of seats that are around the stage. Patrons are expected to tip if they stay in the row. You approach the customer and perform a dance move specifically directed at the customer and takes their dollar.

  • Pole Tricks- Pole tricks are performed by strippers on the stripper pole. There are basic tricks but some tricks can be quite a difficult. However, some strippers who are good at pole tricks tend to do a bunch during there set and do not do much customer interaction. it is good to mix both pole work and customer attention to get the most money.

  • Pole Work- This term is to describe how well you do your pole tricks. A dancer that does great pole work can be a big crowd pleaser.

  • Sets- A set is a description of the amount of time that each stripper stays up on stage. Set lengths vary by strip club and can be dependent on the day or amount of dancers. A typical set is usually 2-3 full songs.

  • Shot Girl- A shot girls walk around and sells mixed shots for inflated prices. Sometimes customers can take a body shot off the shot girl or take the shot from between her breasts. These shots are usually watered down or have very little alcohol in them.

  • Shower Dance- This is not really a dance and there is normally no physical interaction between customer and stripper. This is a voyeur type thing where the patron watches the stripper shower fully nude for a set period of time.

  • Stage Fee or house fee- A fee that strippers are required to pay to be able to dance each night. Amount depends on the club and the day of the week.

  • Stage Name- A stage name is the alias that a dancer uses on stage. Never tell a customer your real name . It is very easy for strippers to be stalked or targeted for rapes and assaults so it is safety measure more than it is a privacy measure.

  • Strip Clubber  A patron who is considered to be addicted to the strip club experience.
  • strip Hoe/ prostitute/ whore- A stripper that is willing to have sex with customers inside or outside of the club.

  • Strip Hop- A song that is specifically directed at providing the perfect strip club song for strippers to dance to. If you have stepped foot in a strip club, you have heard at least one of these songs.

  • Stripper Purse- A small bag (like a Crown Royal bag from the bar haha, or a small purse with a wrist handle) that contains all a strippers singles and other times that are needed for a night of work at the strip club. ( see what do you carry in your stripper bag in stripper 101)

  • Sky Box- A skybox is a suite which is a private suite within a strip club where champaign is sometimes sold. A base fee is usually charged for a block of time that is spent in the room and than there is a dancer fee too. This suite can contain a couch, bed, and/or chairs that are high roller decorated. This room can be referenced as a sky box because it is a second floor room overlooking the main floor.

  • Sky Lounge- A lounge that can be reserved for parties that is away from the main floor. The Sky Lounge usually has a small stage and can sometimes have a private bar that will allow for the customer to have the strip club experience but still have a private party.

  • Tip Out- Strippers are usually required to tip all of those people that do services within the bar. The bouncers, DJ, waitress, and even bartender are basic workers who receive dancer tip outs.
  • VIP floor- this is a seperate, usually smaller part of the club. almost like another club more privet and more expensive, usually the customers in this area have more money. but sometimes they just want to seem like they have more moeny.

  • Zoned- This is the term that is used to describe the trance like state that some strippers go into on stage. This could be due to drugs, boredom, or trying to imagine they are somewhere else.

Some of these are quite area-specific, it seems, but I'll add a few from the clubs I've worked in.
Tracks - fake hair, clipped or glued in, to match real hair and add length (not to be confused with "track marks" -- a drug reference to the marks from injecting drugs, usually on the inside of elbows or between toes).
Raggin(g) - being on your period.
Sniffers' row - synonym for tip rail, pervert row, etc.
Any drug related slang applies and is frequently used in strip clubs. Drugs won't likely be called what they are by the general population, but will instead be called things like ice, blow, weed, smack, etc. "Banging" is slang for injecting drugs, "tooters" are used for smoking drugs.
Two-fers - refers to a common promotion by clubs to have a night or several hours' worth of two-for-one private dances.
Garter - another place to stash money. A small elastic band usually worn around the thigh, but also around an ankle or wrist.
Euphemisms you might see in place of the word "stripper": dancer, entertainer, performer. Any of them, paired with the words "exotic" or "adult." They all refer to strippers.
Stripper killers - bottle caps left on the floor. When stepped on, they cause a lack of balance and can cause dancers to fall. Legit job hazard not to be taken lightly.
YMMV - "Your mileage may vary" - a term used on review sites by customers to indicate that the reader may not have the same experience with the same girl.
Cattle call - derogatory term for the management's way of calling all girls on stage at once at some point in the night to show off the entire lineup. (I've only seen this done in the largest clubs I've worked in).

SBM- sweatpants boner man: A customer that shows up in sweatpants usually with no underwear for the sole purpose of getting off during a LD. The only other customer that is as despised is the Creepy Basketball Shorts Guy
